The best way to rank up in CSGO is to play with four of your friends instead of just goin it alone and testing out matchmaking. Your friends will probably be better than most of the randoms you meet, you will have better communication, and since you're with friends, they will less likely throw away a possible win to troll you.
Random people that play matchmaking are very hit or miss. Some people will have fun and play well, giving out calls and contributing. However, most will be trolls or people who dont care about you or your progress in the game. Further, if your team isn't doing well, they are very likely to give up on the game. Your friends do care about you, and are willing to play to the last round of your team is falling behind.
Communication is key in this game, and if you don't have good comms, your team will lose regardless of individual talent, especially at the higher ranks. This is why playing with friends is do advantageous, because you can be in a third party call software such as team speak or Skype, while the other team probably isn't.
Lastly, it is just more fun to play with friends. To watch yourself and your friends progress in a highly competitive game is exciting and a good way to "hang out" without leaving your room. I love playing with my friends, and we have even reached a point where we have entered small scale professional leagues, playing against other teams and competing.
